Sona Mohapatra opposed Amul new advertisement on India airlifting batch of stranded Indians

The ad’s tagline reads, “Wuhan Se Yahaan Le Aaye,” The word ‘Wuhan’ as in Waha (From there) has been used as a pun in the advertisement, as it is also the Chinese city where the coronavirus outbreak first began.

Opposing the advertisement, Sona Mohapatra tweeted, “in bad taste.” Take a look:

On the other hand, many have praised the advertisement for its creativity. One user wrote, “I think Amul believes in never let an opportunity go! ” while another tweeted, “A great pun on the word “Wuhan”! Those who cannot appreciate – u need to loosen yourselves up a little.”

Another fan used puns of his own and tweeted, “East or West, North or South, Amul cartons are the best”

On Sunday, India airlifted the second batch of 323 stranded Indians and seven Maldivian citizens from Wuhan city in China. The total number of people evacuated with the second batch are 654.
